Members of the SOC Monitoring and Analysis team are responsible for monitoring key security elements within each customer environment, performing analysis, and initiating response activities. The analyst will identify a threat and then determine the severity and probable impact of the threat; ultimately proposing a recommended response to the threat. Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations: Monitor each customer’s Intrusion Detection Systems, firewalls, anti-virus systems, and other managed security components. Respond quickly and effectively to incidents and customer requests & drive to successful resolution. Tactfully and courteously interface with customers in order to build strong business relationships Exercise multi-tasking skills when managing multiple systems and applications during customer interaction Maintain patch/update standards for all systems in the customer environment. Collect, summarize, and chronologically document technical information Analyze all current practices/procedures and suggest improvements to technologies and processes. Manage and resolve escalated customer issues Assist with post-mortem analysis when security breaches occur Identify technical/product training requirements and develop instructional materials and reference documents JOB REQUIREMENTS --------------------------------------------------- Basic Qualifications: Associate's degree in an IT field OR 5+ years of experience in an IT field Specific Knowledge/Skills: - Minimum of 3-5 years in a security monitoring environment - Solid understanding of information security concepts - Experience with intrusion detection systems - Proven understanding of TCP/IP - Demonstrates superior analytical skills - Experience working on an incident response team - Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel (Internal and External) - Technical writing skills and experience documenting procedures - Experience writing incident reports for both technical and management audiences - Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks - Must work well in a team environment - SANS Security and CISSP certifications are a PLUS - Fluency in French or Spanish a PLUS - Strong understanding of Motorola customer satisfaction and business goals **NOTE** Candidate must be a United States citizen or a Naturalized Citizen of the United States.
