Job Title: Software Engineer II
Dept: Engineering
Job Summary
Experienced C++ programmer with a BSCS or equivalent degree willing to join a
fast pace, high energy team writing enterprise level applications using C++
(90%) and Java (10%). The individual needs good organizational skills as well
as good written and verbal communication skills.
Essential Functions
• Participates in design activities by analyzing requirements and high
level designs, designs units of moderate to large complexity, and documents
these in the relevant portions of the low-level design document.
• Codes and maintains software modules of moderate to large size and
complexity working from written and oral requirements and specification.
• Designs, documents and creates unit tests for code.
• Assists in the development of prototype versions of software modules
and applications.
• Participates in design and code inspections.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Qualifications
• Education: BA/BS Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of C/C++ development in a cross-platform environment.
• Knowledgeable in networking technologies such as TCP/IP, sockets
programming, network protocols such as streaming, IM, peer to peer, etc
• Some knowledge of software “build” technologies including
perl, gmake, and cygwin.
• Understanding of multi-threaded, asynchronous programming environments
• Good communication (written and oral) and team-work skills
• Experience: 2 - 5 years software development experience.
Desired qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering
• Ability to work in a team environment and develop enterprise level
applications, under the direction of senior staff and management.
• Ability to guide the work of more junior developers.
