Software Security Engineer
Overview:
Fortify is a fast-paced startup focused on solving the software security
problem from the inside out. We are looking for exceptional engineers to help
us build tools that leverage static and runtime analysis to identify and
eliminate software security vulnerabilities at the source. Fortify Source Code
Analysis is used by Oracle, Apple, Symantec, the six largest banks in the
United States, and dozens of other security-conscious organizations. If you

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Responsibilities:
- Expand the security content of Fortify tools by developing new rules to
detect vulnerabilities in source code, attack patterns to find weaknesses in
deployed applications and protections to prevent attackers from exploiting
flaws.
- Hone Fortify's source code analysis capabilities by finding, reporting, and
fixing bugs in open source software.
- Follow trends and events in the field of software security, assess their
significance and feed findings back into the design and development process to
further improve the breadth and depth of our security coverage.
- Investigate and implement detailed techniques for exploiting real software
security vulnerabilities and leverage results to identify new classes of
vulnerabilities and improve detection accuracy for existing flaws.
- Compare Fortify results against known vulnerabilities in order to shape the
future direction of the products.
Qualifications:
- Conversant in C/C++, Java and C#/ASP.NET.
- Passion for software security.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience auditing source code for security vulnerabilities or white-hat
hacking and penetration testing preferred but not required.
