Position: Senior Software Engineer
Location: Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2006-12-15
Authentium is currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer to maintain and
enhance our existing firewall application and SDK. Additionally, the position
will assist in creating new modules for our security platform.
Responsibilities:
• Primary responsibility is focused on maintenance work related to
existing/released firewall SDK. This involves everything from minor code,
changes to design of new modules, including wring code, debugging, testing and
documentation.
• Ability to develop written design specifications from project
management input and interviews with key team members and customers.
• To maintain, analyze, design, program, debug and modify specific parts
of our Security Software systems. Work according to the practices set out in
the Product Development processes and framework.
• Write, code, complete programming and perform testing and debugging of
applications.
• Complete documentation and give input to improve procedures for
installation, development and maintenance processes.
Specific responsibilities include:
Taking “ownership” of the firewall module
Primarily provide maintenance programming support
Develop new modules as needed
Adhere to the processes and standards defined by the Software
Engineering Department
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Requirements:
• Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and 2-5 years
practical experience in software development of commercial business systems.
• Knowledge of Network and computer security applications, Web-based
applications, Operating system interfaces and extensions.
• Significant knowledge and experience with two or more of the following:
TCP/IP networking applications; Routers, Firewalls and VPNs.
• Thorough knowledge of C++
• Experience supporting enterprise networking devices and software for
Windows and UNIX operating systems.
• Experience with Visual Basic 6, COM+/DCOM, and .NET a plus.
• Experience with Visual Source Safe and incident tracking tools.
• Experience writing Visual Source Safe and incident tracking tools.
• Reasonable knowledge of Windows NT/2000/XP Platforms.
• Authentication systems including RADIUS, one-time-password or PKI a
plus.
