Position: Security Engineer
Location: Washington, District of Columbia, United States
Type: Permanent F/T

Sword & Shield Enterprise Security, Inc. has an immediate opening for a network
security engineer in the Washington, DC area. Both contract and full-time
position options are available. Salary is commensurate with experience.

network security services and products.
The successful candidate will have at least 4 years experience in IT security.
This position involves supporting the design, development, integration,
testing, and technical support of computer and network security solutions for
both commercial and government clients. The successful candidate will be both
self-disciplined to work on individual tasks and to work well in a team
environment.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will have security experience in the following:
* TCP/IP networking and network integration with routers, hubs, and switches
* Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems and security
* Programming language experience in C/C++, Java, Visual Basic, Perl
* Experience with firewall, VPN, intrusion detection, and advanced
authentication technologies such as two-factor authentication
* Experience with wireless LAN security (including 802.11 standards)
* Vulnerability assessment and penetration testing tools and methods
* Database and web server security design and implementation
* Designing security architectures based on business needs and security
best practices
This position requires participation in presentations and briefings. A degree
in Computer Science is preferred, but is not required. Desired certifications
include: CISSP, CISA, SANS GIAC, CCNP, or CCSA/CCSE. Understanding of IT
security standards such as ISO 17799, COBIT, and ITIL. Additionally, candidates
with product certifications for CheckPoint, Netscreen, or ISS will be given
higher priority.
