Position: Security Engineer
Location: San Diego, California, United States

This engineer is focused on ensuring that security is an integral part of
application development and that confidential information is handled
appropriately during development and in production. This engineer is both a
security subject matter expert that provides consulting and advice, and a
hands-on developer that designs and develops security solutions.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Design and develop security software components such as authentication,
data and password encryption, key management, credential management, web
session management, and non-repudiation.
• Drive ongoing security awareness and best practice adoption within the
product development community
• Develop processes and tools that help development teams establish and
track security requirements through all phases of the application development
life cycle
• Provide technical guidance on security-related issues to management and
technical staff
• Conduct security reviews at each application development checkpoint to
ensure that security requirements are defined and satisfied
• Evaluate third-party tool and solutions that make it easier to create
secure software
• Prepare potential attack scenarios based on data flows and business
processes; assess the likelihood of success of such scenarios
• Coordinate efforts to ensure compliance with corporate security policies
• Actively participate in the Security Engineering Community
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Qualifications:
• BS in Computer Science or related field
• 10 years experience in building, deploying, and maintaining
high-performing, high-quality, mission-critical products in a desktop, web
server, and/or hosted services environment
• 5 years experience in Java and .Net software development, using Java and
C/C++ or C#
• Experience architecting and developing software using a combination of
the following or related security technologies – OpenSSL, CryptoAPI, RSA
BSafe, JCE, PKCS, PKI, Single-Sign-on, .NET System Security.
• Proven ability in the following web technologies – HTTP, HTML, XML,
SOAP, WS-Security, SSL, J2EE, Struts frameworks, JDBC/ODBC, ADO
• Solid understanding of SOA and hosting software as a service
• Well versed in all aspects of software development processes
• Proven ability to evangelize and influence
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially the
ability to present complex and detailed technical information in a manner that
is understandable to non-technical individuals.
Preferred:
SANS Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC), or equivalent
Thorough understanding of PCI Compliance requirements
Prior experience as an information security analyst
Prior experience in software process improvement in a multiple development team
organization
