Position: Security Researcher
Location: Mountain View, California, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2006-11-25
Our client is a leading enterprise security/networking company and they
recently asked for our assistance in locating an experienced Security
Researcher to kick-off a dedicated security research function within their
engineering team.
Ideal candidates will have broad and deep experience doing threat
analysis/research on enterprise-class networking products including direct
experience developing custom tools to scan/probe for openings that can be
exploited.
You will be responsible for:
- Keeping abreast of the latest exploits and understanding their applicability
to the product line
- Running scanners against products
- Developing patches/plug-ins for newly discovered vulnerabilities
- Static analysis of source code
- Figuring out new and innovative ways to attack the product line
- Documenting procedures, vulnerabilities/exploits, etc.
- Working with engineering and the CTO to make necessary changes to the code
base

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Additional experience should include:
- Strong C and scripting skills
- Solid Linux development skills (gcc, gdb, etc.)
- Good embedded development skills
- Solid understanding of IDS, packet capture, firewalls, filtering, scanning,
etc.
- Pen Test experience
- Familiarity with open source security tools
- Experience developing protocol stacks
- Good understanding of AAA protocols/mechanisms
This is an immediate need and all qualified applicants will receive a prompt
