Sourcefire, Inc. is looking for a Systems/OEM Engineer to join our highly 
talented and rapidly expanding team in our Headquarters in Columbia, Maryland. 
The primary responsibilities of the engineer are:

        * Troubleshooting and isolating Snort bugs seen by customers and open 
source users
        * Fixing problems in Snort
        * Creating unit test cases to verify fixes
        * Performing unit and regression tests on Snort
        * Interacting with the Snort development team for assistance in fixing 
problems and ensuring fixes are included in future releases
        * Interacting with QA to ensure that tests are included in future 
regression test suites


JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
Skills required include:

        * Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent)
        * 2+ years of experience with C
        * Experience with Snort & Linux
        * Basic Unix system administration skills
        * TCP/IP networking experience
        * Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
        * Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
        * Ability to learn new skills and apply them quickly
        * Ability to work with legacy code to fix problems
        * Strong verbal and written communication skills

In addition, the following skills are desired:

        * Knowledge of traffic generation and IDS testing methodologies
        * Experience with other IDS products
        * Experience with network security tools such as nmap, tcpreplay, 
nessus, ethereal, and tcpdump
        * Prior experience as part of a software development team
        * Prior experience working on an open source project
        * Knowledge of network security concepts
        * Windows, Solaris, BSD development experience
