Department Description:
The Security Architecture Technology Lab (Motorola Labs) is responsible for 
identifying security threat positions for a broad array of communications 
products made by Motorola. The lab identifies future threat models and develops 
updated approaches to the processor, Operating System and communication 
approaches to have solutions available to solve the threat when the product 
need becomes real. The lab consists of multiple discipline members with 
experience in product development, security analysis and practical cryptography.

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:
Work with the team to identify security threats to products, analyze existing 
security threats and trends, and develop approaches to provide strong security 
solutions. The architecture designs should provide opportunity to publish 
findings and work with product teams to integrate security solutions into 
product designs. This individual will be expected to keep up to date on 
academic work to identify interesting trends that may be applied to Motorola 
products, trends that may lead to security problems that will drive interesting 
solutions and trends that will define new research opportunities.




JOB REQUIREMENTS

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters Degree
3+ year’s experience

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
PhD preferred, with research work in a related security topics such as applied 
cryptography, security based protocols, information security or embedded 
computing security. 

3+ years of experience in a research organization with responsibility for 
security projects. 

Working knowledge in security system protocols, system level design or software 
security implementation is also required. 

Experience with embedded security architectural experience; experience in 
developing of high assurance software; strong software or system development 
management skills; strong experience with best practices for implementation and 
certification of high assurance software is highly recommended. 

US citizenship is required for this position.
