Position: Security Consultant
Location: Newport Beach, Virginia, United States
Type: Permanent F/T

decade, our expert consultants have delivered solutions that assure our
clients' software is secure and reliable, while enabling them to dramatically
improve how they architect, build and deploy software.
Position Location: Northern and Southern California
Position Type: Full-time Employee
General Responsibilities:
Cigital is looking for experienced software security consultants who are
deep-rooted in software design & architecture, development languages and
development methodologies. Ideal candidates should have a strong consulting or
research background, and often be considered the technical go-to person in
their peer group. Knowledge and experience with software security technologies
and tools is a huge plus. Expectations include: superior technical knowledge,
project execution against milestones, team leadership, identification of add-on
and follow-on opportunities, team mentoring and teaching skills. A Senior
Consultant has task responsibility within one or more projects, typically at
one client.
Roles:
• Technical & team lead
• Software security architect & designer
• Development lead
• Secure code analysis
• Security requirements definition and testing lead
• Identification of add-on and follow-on work at client sites
Qualifications:
• Technical Skills
– Ability to develop enterprise class systems using J2EE, C#, C++ or .NET
programming environments
– Ability to perform structured analysis of business problems and define
a technical architecture that solves those problems
– Understanding of operating system and computer language compiler
architectures
– Understanding of software development methodologies such as waterfall,
RUP and Agile
• Consulting skills
– Ability to interface with clients, utilizing consulting and negotiating
skills
– Ability to undertake and complete tasks independently, meet schedules
and delivery timelines, and to move swiftly from concepts and theory to action
– Ability to provide pre-sales/post-sales technical support
• Project leadership
– Ability to define and lead a project, and execute tasks consistently
– Ability to collaborate with, mentor and guide project team members
– Ability to provide technical leadership as a SME in one or more domains
• Communication Skills
– Requires written communication skills for use in preparing formal
documentation, white papers, and case studies
– Verbal requirements that include the ability to clearly articulate
thoughts and deliver presentation and training to all levels of management
– Ability to persuade, present & communicate effectively
• Demeanor
– Enthusiasm and commitment with professional interpersonal skill and an
entrepreneurial drive
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:
• BS in CS, Engineering or equivalent. MS preferred
• Hands-on experience with C/C++, Java, and .Net; multiple OS and RDBMS
• 5+ years software development experience
• 3 years consulting experience or research background
• Hands-on knowledge of Static Analysis tools, such as: Fortify,
Coverity, Secure Software, Klocwork
• Software architectural and design experience
• Experience in security technologies; ideally have CISSP or other
security certifications
