Position: Security Engineer
Location: Dublin, , Ireland

Security Operations Manager - EU Headquarters
This position is located in the European Headquarters in Dublin, Ireland.
Google is looking for a visionary and effective person to lead the team
responsible for our first line of network defense. This individual must be
innovative, creative and flexible, capable of working in a constantly moving
environment with energy and enthusiasm. If creating technology to find
attackers on anarchic networks excites you, this is the place to be!
Applicants must have experience managing medium-sized teams and a proven track
record of technical excellence. We are looking specifically for leaders to
revolutionize the way Google (and potentially the world) looks at information
security. This job requires hands on work with both Software Developers and
Operations Engineers.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
Responsibilities:
* Create strategy around security and incident detection.
* Guide engineers that evaluate, build and implement scalable solutions to
solve our problems.
* Manage a global team of engineers dedicated to keeping Google and our
customers safe.
* Lead the team responsible for monitoring our network and systems for
incidents.
* Spread your enthusiasm for good security practice and policy to Googlers
around the world.
Requirements:
* BS in Computer Science or technical area required (MS or PhD preferred),
CISSP not required.
* 3+ years managing security operational teams of at least six people.
* Excellent organizational skills. Strong project management skills
preferred.
* Experience managing software development lifecycles preferred.
* Strong understanding of network and systems security issues.
* Hands on experience with IDS technology and log management systems.
* Must have worked as an engineer on security issues.
