Security Consultant – Technical Manager
Cigital, a leader in Software Security and Quality Assurance for 14 years, is
growing and looking to expand its footprint on the West Coast. For over a
decade, our expert consultants have delivered solutions that assure our
clients' software is secure and reliable, while enabling them to dramatically
improve how they architect, build and deploy software.
Position Location: Northern and Southern California. Office is located in
Newport Beach but flexibility on specific location of consultant.
General Responsibilities
Cigital is looking for technical leaders in software security, development and
architecture, with detailed hands-on experience of security technologies and
techniques, such as encryption and security design reviews. The Technical
Manager is, and will remain, a technical leader in their field, with
expectations not only to lead clients (with regard to technology), but also
further Cigital’s technical position. A Technical Manager is
additionally responsible for the execution and delivery of project deliverables
and milestones that assist clients in learning, understanding, and applying
Cigital services. Responsibility typically lies across multiple projects at one
or more client site. Successful candidates will possess strong
experience/skills in the following areas: software architecture/development,
development methodologies, relevant software security technologies, general
consulting, project management and business awareness. Expectations will also
include suppo
rting the sales process (including proposal generation) with deep
experienced-based knowledge, marketing efforts and employee mentoring in the
technical field.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:
• Technical Skills
– Ability to develop enterprise class systems using J2EE, C/C++ and/or
.NET
– Ability to perform structured analysis of business problems and define
a technical architecture that solves those problems
– Understanding of operating system and computer language compiler
architectures
– Understanding of software development methodologies such as: waterfall,
RUP and agile
• Consulting Skills
– Ability to communicate with clients, utilizing consulting and
negotiating skills
– Ability to undertake and complete tasks independently, set and adhere
to schedules, and to move swiftly from concepts to action
– Ability to provide pre-sales/post-sales technical support
• Team Oriented Skills
– Ability to collaborate with project team members
– Ability to mentor team members in your technical field
• Project Management Skills
– Ability to give direction to 5 team members as project lead and execute
tasks consistently
• Project Leadership Skills
– Ability to mentor 5 Consultants and to lead and execute projects to
successful completion
• Communication Skills
– Requires written communication skills for use in preparing formal
documentation, Statements of Work, proposals, white papers, and case studies
– Verbal requirements that include the ability to clearly articulate
thoughts and deliver presentation and training to all levels of management
– Ability to persuade
• Demeanor
– Enthusiasm and commitment with professional interpersonal skill and an
entrepreneurial drive
Education and Experience:
• BS in CS, Engineering or equivalent. MS preferred
• Strong experience with C/C++, Java, and .Net multiple OS and RDBMS
• 7+ years software development experience
• 5 years consulting experience
• Working knowledge of Static Analysis tools, such as: Fortify, Coverity,
Secure Software, Klocwork
• Software architectural and design experience
• Experience in security technologies
