Security Consultant – Managing Consultant (MC)
Cigital, a leader in Software Security and Quality Assurance for 14 years, is
growing and looking to expand its footprint on the West Coast. For over a
decade, our expert consultants have delivered solutions that assure our
clients' software is secure and reliable, while enabling them to dramatically
improve how they architect, build and deploy software.
Position Location: Northern and Southern California
Position Type: Full-time Employee
General Responsibilities:
Cigital is looking for experienced project management consultants to lead
client project(s) and account(s). Ideal candidates will be seasoned
consultants with strong project management and client awareness skills.
Candidates must also have a strong technical background, even if they are no
longer hands-on with these technologies. As such a successful candidate must
possess detailed experience/skills in: software development, software
architecture, development methodologies and software security concepts &
technologies. Expectations include: project management, team leadership, the
identification and pursuit of add-on and follow-on work at account sites, team
mentoring and support of the sales process (including proposal generation). A
Managing Consultant will become an advocate for software security, software
quality and software improvement.
Roles:
• Management of projects at one or more client site
• The identification and pursuit of add-on and follow-on work at client
sites
• Team mentoring and management
• Account management for small-medium sized clients
Qualifications:
• Project leadership and Management
– Ability to define and lead a project, and execute tasks consistently
– Ability to collaborate with, mentor and guide project team members
– Ability to provide technical leadership as a SME in one or more domains
• Consulting
– Superior client interface and consulting skills
– Strong negotiating skills
– Ability to undertake and complete tasks independently
– Ability to meet schedules and delivery timelines
• Business Development
– Demonstrated ability to identify and sell additional and follow-on work
– Ability to provide pre-sales/post-sales technical support
– Overall Revenue Responsibility for $1 – 1.5 Million on a
consistent basis
• Communication Skills
– Requires written communication skills for use in preparing formal
documentation, Statements of Work, proposals, white papers, and case studies
– Verbal requirements that include the ability to clearly articulate
thoughts and deliver presentation and training to all levels of management
– Ability to persuade, present & communicate effectively
• Demeanor
– Enthusiasm and commitment with professional interpersonal skill and an
entrepreneurial drive
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:
• BS in CS, Engineering or equivalent. MS preferred
• Recent experience with C/C++, Java, and .Net multiple OS and RDBMS
• 5 years software development experience
• 3 years consulting experience
• Working knowledge of Static Analysis tools, such as: Fortify, Coverity,
Secure Software, Klocwork
• Software architectural and design experience
• Experience in security technologies
