Position: Sr. Security Engineer
Location: St. Petersburg, Florida, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2006-10-21
Position is responsible for implementing the Information Security program at a
tactical and operational level and in ensuring that security controls are
functioning efficiently and effectively, more specifically in the realm of
security logging, monitoring, and alert and incident handling. Furthermore,
this position will also support the InfoSec Group in doing security research
and development, product evaluations, project support, and any other
operational tasks needed to support the overall requirements of the InfoSec
program
JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Act as the “hub” to security events and activities on the network
and its resources (servers, clients, routers, firewalls, Intrusion Detection
Devices, etc.) and route them to the appropriate groups for action (these tasks
are currently being performed by various engineers throughout several IT groups)
2. Work with the SOC and other business units to analyze all security-related
events and activities to provide daily, weekly, and monthly reporting of
statistics and metrics
3. Follow-up on security-related events and activities to ensure that they have
been correlated, analyzed, acted upon, closed, and reported
4. Manage the end-to-end Security Incident Response Notification (SIRN) process
for FADV corporate, including escalation of critical events and activities to
Security Management and other designated stakeholders
5. Perform bi-weekly vulnerability scanning, analysis, and reporting for
selected resources across the network (using a rotation scanning schedule)
6. Perform security audits on selected systems across the network (using a
rotation schedule)
7. Provide R&D support to, Director Security Ops, IT and business projects as
needed
8. Assist with general administrative activities in collaboration with the
Security Process Coordinator; assist Director, Security Ops. in operational
tasks as needed.
Assist in the technical, day to day tasks as part of the implementation of new
processes and tools linked to several key capital projects such as:
Vulnerability Scanning of Network and Systems, SOC, IPS, Certification, etc.
9. Provide input to the annual security budget cycle.
10. Prepare project plans and associated documentation; prepare status reports
and other management metrics as needed.
11. Develop, manage and administer the IT Security program, SRM standards,
guidelines, etc.
Other Responsibilities:
Provide understanding of network and system security and influence the IT Teams
(as well as the Business Segments) in integrating security in the design of
networks and implementation of systems.
Contribute to the technical understanding and promotion of new and existing
information security standards, solutions and tools with respect to network and
systems.
Must be an expert in security related processes such as Change Control, Risk
Management, Quality Assurance, and Auditing.
