Position: Security Engineer
Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States
Type: Permanent F/T

Forsythe Solutions Group is currently seeking a Senior Security Consultant. The
ideal person will be capable of working in diverse situations and have a
minimum of 5 years experience in the information security industry. Strong
candidates will have deep and recent hands-on experience designing and
implementing security solutions in large and complex environments. Significant
experience reviewing and implementing security policies and procedures and an
understanding of compliance issues is desirable. Suitable communication and
interpersonal skills are required.
Demonstrable detailed knowledge of networking and security countermeasures
design is mandatory. Significant experience deploying and troubleshooting
firewalls in various architectures is required. Strong candidates may also have
experience conducting security assessments using commercial and open source
host scanning tools, network scanning tools, and web and database vulnerability
assessment tools. Working knowledge of cryptography applications, methods,
systems and protocols is expected. Candidate should have interest in intrusion
prevention, content filtering technologies, wireless networking and security,
authentication and identity management, and application security. Product
knowledge should include Checkpoint, Cisco Security Products, Nokia, RSA,
Juniper, ISS.
Significant LAN/WAN internetworking technology experience (routers, switches,
etc.) and deep knowledge of IP addressing, IP subnets and routing is necessary.
In depth knowledge of TCP, UDP Protocols and the OSI seven layer model is
required. Although CISSP certification is desired, any of the following
qualifications would be beneficial - Checkpoint Certified Security
Administrator (CCSA) or Expert (CCSE), Cisco Certified Security Professional
(CCSP), or other major vendor sponsored security certifications.
This position will require 50% travel.
