The position will support the VITA Security Services Directorate with 
responsibilities to oversee the coordinated, effective and efficient management 
of Security Services Information Security Data Warehouse. The Security Services 
data warehouse will provide a central repository listing all Commonwealth 
sensitive systems and relative security controls.  
Provides management oversight of Security Services Information Security Data 
Warehouse which contains data in every sensitive system in every in-scope 
agency.  Contacts agencies to ensure completeness and accuracy of data. 
Analyzes the legal and other security mandates related to the systems including 
requiremetns of HIPAA, IRS Reg 1075 and Code of Virginia statutes for areas 
such as medical and public safety records.  Assesses the technical environment 
of each system and identifies any security gaps relative to the sensitive 
systems.  Works with the IT Partnership to develop risk response 
recommendations for the agencies including avoidance, transference, acceptance 
or mitigation as appropiate.  Works with agencies to ascertain their risk 
response decision.  Oversees and monitors the directorate's Information 
Security Data Warehouse development. Responsible for maintaining the Security 
Services data warehouse by creating documented processes to keep the data 
current and rele
 vent for Security Services and the COV agencies supported. Provide analysis of 
various audit plans and results. Provide analysis of security assessments of 
high risk systems and related controls.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
Requires: Experience in reviewing information security activities including 
policies and procedures and presenting findings in verbal and written reports. 
Experience in one or more of the following: LAN/WAN networking, systems 
administration of both Windows and Unix based platforms, firewalls, IDS/IPS 
design and implementation, computer forensic techniques, databases, web and 
mail servers, and general systems design and operation required. Excellent 
communication and presentation skills required. Must be proficient with the 
Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). College 
degree in a related field preferred, but equivalent experience may substitute. 
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and acquire new 
skills/knowledge to meet customer needs. Candidates should possess at least one 
of the following certifications: CISSP, CISM, GCIA, CCNP, CCDP, CCSP, GCIH, or 
a systems administration/engineer certification from a major operating system 
(MCSE
 , SCSA, RHCE, CNE). This position requires a fingerprint-based criminal 
background check.
