The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) is an international financial
institution that promotes central bank cooperation and provides banking
services exclusively to central banks. Based in Basel, Switzerland, with
representative offices for Asia and the Pacific in Hong Kong SAR and for the
Americas in Mexico City, the BIS has staff from some 50 countries.
The BIS seeks a Security Instructor for the BIS headquarters in Basel,
Switzerland.
Purpose of the job:
To carry out policing, surveillance and intervention duties with respect to BIS
premises, assets, staff and visitors.
Principal accountabilities:
Protection and surveillance:
Protects Bank staff and visitors, safeguards Bank assets and property on
Bank-owned premises.
Maintains and restores security and good order on the BIS premises.
Intervention:
Responds to emergencies and other potentially dangerous situations in
accordance with Bank procedures. As required, provides first aid and supports
rescue operations.
Cooperates and maintains good relations with police, emergency services and
relevant Swiss authorities.
Weapons:
Carries and deploys weapons in strict compliance with procedures and training.
Staff supervision:
Responsible for providing and coordinating security-related instruction.
Assists in scheduling and deploying protection, surveillance and intervention
resources. May be required to lead a team and oversee that its objectives are
met.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Job Requirements:
Operations:
Reliable, accurate, organised, able to recognise special/unusual events or
situations, concise, good communicator and team player, open to sharing
information.
Intervention: Active, dynamic, focused, reliable, level-headed, able to cope
with stress, fast thinker, fast learner.
Minimum of 10 years' experience in law enforcement duty.
Passed accredited law enforcement training or equivalent, weapons qualification
and excellent fitness.
Special skills and training in law enforcement would be appreciated.
Fluency in English and German, knowledge of other official Bank language
desirable.
