VeriSign Inc., a NASDAQ 100 high-tech company and leading provider of Internet 
trust services is aggressively searching for a team-oriented professional with 
a solution selling background and 7-10 years of previous security industry 
experience and at least 3-5 years of sales engineering experience. You will 
manage the entire technical portion of the sales process as you clearly 
articulate to potential customers VeriSign's Security Solutions and all of the 
technical attributes of our services, as well as the technical and business 
advantages that they offer versus competitive offerings. 

You will interface with mid and senior management at Fortune 100 companies to 
identify their requirements and present solutions. In this competitive and 
dynamic environment you represent the best of what VeriSign has to offer. Key 
responsibilities include providing service demonstrations to prospects and 
customers; serving as the lead technical resource for the regional sales team; 
setting and managing customer expectation levels; acting as conduit between 
customer, engineering, professional services and product management groups to 
address customer technical questions/concerns; providing customer feedback on 
service enhancement requests; formulating strategy and making recommendations 
to sales team on technology factors that will positively influence the 
customer's decision to go with VeriSign; developing sales tools as necessary; 
providing technical presentations at customer sites, partner field sales 
training events, trade shows, etc.; and authoring technical response to R
 FPs.

You work closely with your Regional Sales Representatives in identifying 
strategies to maximize sales in your region. Your writing skills need to be 
exceptional as you are also responsible for creating proposals and Statements 
of Work. This fast paced position will challenge you in every aspect and demand 
your complete dedication. As a national asset Sales Engineers will travel 
frequently within and outside of their regions. Your success will be dependent 
on your strong background in three core areas with a specific emphasis on 
Firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPN's:

Managed Security Services
' Operational aspects of outsourced security management and monitoring
' Design implications of firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention sensors, and 
VPN devices
' Event correlation, analysis, and trending of security events
' Vulnerability assessment and security risk profiling

Authentication and Public Key Infrastructure
' Two factor authentication including tokens and smart cards
' Directory infrastructure design
' Digital certificate standards, practices, and policy statements
' CA/RA models and hierarchies
' Certificate integration with SSL, S/MIME, IPSEC, and form signing
' Fraud detection and consumer authentication solutions

Security Consulting Services
' Security strategy including policy development and assessment and penetration 
testing





JOB REQUIREMENTS

5+ years of previous security industry experience
3+ years of sales engineering experience
BS in technical or business/marketing
CISSP and/or CISM preferred along with at least one other technical 
certification
