JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
The primary responsibility is to maintain production systems during off hours.
· Candidate will work nights, monitoring, troubleshooting and
servicing Unix/Windows systems and Network infrastructure in a trading
environment. Candidate will also participate in various projects related to
design and implementation of new technologies.
· Candidate will use SNMP monitoring tools, Perl and shell
scripting to maintain the system and network infrastructure.
· Will work with the Unix, Windows server and Network team on a
daily basis to debug problems, install software, and other tasks related to the
operation of the trading systems.
· Will perform installations of hardware and software. May be
called on to perform offsite installations at client facilities.
· Good interpersonal and communications skills and commitment to
professionalism.
· Unix knowledge (particularly Solaris). Should be adept with
common Unix utilities and system tools.
· Familiar with NFS, DNS, SMTP, WWW, and other industry standard
systems.
· Experience with workstation and server hardware including disk
drives, interface boards, memory, power supplies, etc.
· Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols, IP routing
protocols, Networking (CISCO) hardware and WAN technology.
· Experience with network security and firewalls desirable.
· NT/Windows experience a plus.
