JOB REQUIREMENTS

The Mission:
Listen to customers. Talk to customers.
That is what our client wants from the Technical Marketing Manager.
As the communicator to the target audience, this role will focus on developing
strategic marketing tactics that will interest pragmatic system administrators.
Our client is not looking to develop marketing hype. Their clients are
interested in the technical nuts and bolts of their product.
Their audience is listening. In fact, their audience wants more information
about their product, what it can do, how it can help them. It will be the
Technical Marketing Manager who will speak back, giving them the information
they need.
This role will develop key marketing materials such as: white papers, press kit
collateral, success stories, product demos, website articles and updates to
wiki’s and forums.
Working alongside the CEO and the VP of Marketing, you will help increase the
overall presence of the organization in the open source community.
Experience and Expertise:
You have a strong background in storage software, particularly backup and
archiving.
You have 2-3 year of experience in software development or UNIX/Linux System
Administration.
With a good comprehension of technical concepts and procedures you are able to
describe and explain systems in a simple common form.
You have great writing skills and have developed marketing collateral for a
technology company. You also have a passion to communicate with others through
user forums, blogging and other Internet technologies.
A strong understanding of open source issues is beneficial.
