Network Operations Engineer
Position Description:
The 3rd Level Network Operations Engineer will be expected to work well in a
team-oriented environment and lead staff in making network support, design, and
performance monitoring decisions. The 3rd Level Network Operations Group
handles problems/escalations that the 1st/2nd Level Support Group needs
assistance resolving. As the key technical resource for the organization, this
position will exercise a high degree of independence and autonomy in setting
the direction for technical developments and overseeing implementation of
projects. Along with directing several large infrastructure initiatives, this
position will be required to refocus our network monitoring instrumentation in
order view the environment from a services perspective rather than looking at
discrete components. This includes network requirements analysis, design,
development, integration, test, and implementation. This Level (Sr. Network
Operations Engineer position requires comprehensive knowledge of the Cisc
o routers, switches, and proxy servers. Extensive knowledge and experience
with network management tools (Smarts InCharge, Concord eHealth, Spectrum,
Entuity EOS, Cisco Works). This position also requires support for the
following: Network Security (Cisco TACACS, Nokia/Firewall One support)
Measuring and Reporting Key Performance Attributes Mapping Performance Metrics
to Service Levels Identifying Potential Performance Bottlenecks Delivering a
Network Performance Baseline Outage Root Cause Analysis Network Management
Frameworks Performance Monitoring & Capacity Planning Market Data Support
