This position can be based out of Los Angeles or Orange County or San Diego area. The PRE-SALES Engineer performs the following function: technical PRE-SALES support for family of products in a defined geographic territory or on a national basis for a market vertical. Some regional and national travel required. The PRE-SALES Engineer will work with the sales team to develop and position solutions involving products. Presentations and conference call discussions are a critical part of this position. During the qualifying process, confirm that products meet the prospect's requirements and assist sales in technical qualification. Throughout the proposal process, articulate and demonstrate solutions, influence customer's technical requirements, and position products relative to competition. The PRE-SALES Engineer must obtain a working knowledge of all products. Must be able to install and demonstrate all products with a particular focus on the product set defined by their manager. The PRE-SALES Engineer must obtain more than one product expertise (expertise categories as defined by product marketing) as assigned by the manager. Working closely with assigned sales personnel, the PRE-SALES Engineer is Responsible for the technical aspects of the sales cycle and is often involved with the client post purchase.
