Location:       Portland, Oregon, United States

 Our client, a leading integrator of Messaging Security products, is seeking a 
PRE-SALES Engineer for its Northwest US sales territory. This position can be 
base out of Portland, OR or Seattle, WA.

The PRE-SALES Engineer performs the following function: technical PRE-SALES 
support for family of products in a defined geographic territory or on a 
national basis for a market vertical. Some regional and national travel 
required.

The PRE-SALES Engineer will work with the sales team to develop and position 
solutions involving products. Presentations and conference call discussions are 
a critical part of this position. During the qualifying process, confirm that 
products meet the prospect's requirements and assist sales in technical 
qualification. Throughout the proposal process, articulate and demonstrate 
solutions, influence customer's technical requirements, and position products 
relative to competition.

Deliver PRE-SALES and post-sales support needed to achieve revenue targets.
Work with the sales team to develop and position solutions that involve the 
company’s products.
Assist customers in configuring enterprise security solutions.
Support field sales organization in proposal creation and responding to RFPs.




JOB REQUIREMENTS

Position requirements

Bachelors Degree minimum
Excellent communication and presentation skills
High energy and enthusiasm for delivering services
Impeccable planning and organizational skills, as well as sound, independent 
judgment
Proven project management and excellent oral & written skills
Working knowledge of the security industry
Working knowledge of competitive products for each of products,

Technical Requirements
The PRE-SALES Engineer must have an strong hands-on knowledge of various 
Operating Systems: UNIX, NT, Netware or Windows 2000, and must work towards 
attaining knowledge of the other Operating Systems.

Specific Knowledge of Messaging (Email and Instant Messaging) Security and 
Archiving products strong preferred.<<

The PRE-SALES Engineer must obtain a working knowledge of all products. Must be 
able to install and demonstrate all products with a particular focus on the 
product set defined by their manager. The PRE-SALES Engineer must obtain more 
than one product expertise (expertise categories as defined by product 
marketing) as assigned by the manager. Working closely with assigned sales 
personnel, the PRE-SALES Engineer is Responsible for the technical aspects of 
the sales cycle and is often involved with the client post purchase.

Solid enterprise security, networking or database/applications solutions 
background
Background in project management or management consulting
Proven ability to sell new technology and build relationships with initial 
reference accounts
Ability to support both direct and channel sales environments
Extremely proficient in networking topologies and system analysis
The ability to scope a business opportunity and create a corresponding 
statement of work
Quickly discern qualified from non-qualified opportunities
Key Attributes
Intelligent, articulate and driven
High-energy, in-born technical instinct, drive and motivation
Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
Equally conversant with a CIO, CISO as you are with a project leader
Confident platform skills

Certifications strongly preferred: CISSP, CISA, MCSE, GEAC, cisco security.
