Position: Technical Support Engineer
Location: Lexington, Massachusetts, United States

Job Description Support Engineer III (SOC)
• Provide a high-level of technical expertise to major network, hosting,
and enterprise customers along with internal Arbor Networks service delivery
teams.
• Work with other SOC engineers and the development team to analyze
network anomalies and recommend countermeasures to our customers.
• Act as a dedicated support engineer, owning overall responsibility for
customer satisfaction, while facilitating the resolution of ongoing issues.
• Work closely with sales, development, and implementation to ensure a
smooth transition from installation to support.
• Provide feedback and work closely with development teams within Arbor
Networks regarding new products and feature improvements for reliability,
availability, and serviceability.
• Provide training and assistance in documenting operational procedures
within the Arbor Networks SOC and to the customer’s senior network
operations and security staff.
The ideal candidate has the following required skills and experience with a
willingness maintain a flexible schedule and travel to customer locations as
required for technical meetings, product trials/evaluations, and post-sale
implementations.
Technical Skills
• Passion for the Internet and related new technologies
• Strong understanding of both the technology and structure of the core
of the Internet and its future evolution.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP internetworking/WAN data communications.
• Working knowledge of the following routing protocols: OSPF, BGP, and
EIGRP as well as Internet transit and peering procedures and policies.
• Understanding of network security products and the implementation of
security policies and measures including access control list management.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational skills, and a
demonstrated history of high-level achievement in cross-functional
organizations.
• Strong customer service, technical account management, and project
engineering skills required.
• Strong knowledge of a UNIX based operating system (OpenBSD a strong
plus)
• CCNP or CCIE certifications a plus.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Experience
• BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5+ years of direct experience in the implementation and
support of large, complex, IP-based networks.
• Network security, intrusion detection system and/or SNMP based network
management system deployment experience required.
Background in supporting large ISP, ASP, hosting, or enterprise customers a
plus.
