Position: Sr. Security Engineer
Location: Schaumburg, Illinois, United States

Department Description:
We are currently seeking individuals with strong security background to join a
team of professionals delivering quality IT security services to a variety of
top-tier international clients. We are a Fortune 100 company with sales over
US$36 billion in 2005, a global leader in communications technologies across
many business lines. Our Security Operations Center (SOC) provides 24x7x365
security support for our customers.
Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:
The Security Technologist on our Security Projects team is responsible for a
wide range of project-oriented security tasks including defining and improving
procedures, perform Quality Assurance checks, customizing our security
monitoring software to adapt to daily changes, creating and delivering training
to our Monitoring and Analysis team, and generally improving the effectiveness
of our SOC.
The members of the Security projects group must have the ability to act
independently of management and possess critical decision making skills. Ten
percent of this position consists of performing direct monitoring of security
data. Off-hour work or scheduling may be required of anyone in this shift-based
role.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
**2+ years information security experience**
An ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Strong Analytical skills
- 1 to 3 years of full-time hands-on information security experience
- Familiar with one or more IDS and firewall products
- Strong understanding of networking (tcp/ip/udp/icmp)
- Familiar with the functions of a operational security team
- Able to identify process gaps and develop a procedure to remedy the gap
- Able to clearly communicate to non-technical persons
- Excellent report writing skills
- Project management experience
- Proficient with multiple operating systems
- Proficient with one or more scripting languages
- Experience coordinating incident response efforts
- A bachelors degree, preferably in am engineering or IT related program
-S ecurity certifications such as GCIA, GCIH, CISSP, Security+
