Securicon, LLC has a Control System’s Analyst position available in the 
Arlington, Virginia area supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) 
US-CERT Operations Center in coordinating defense against and responding to 
cyber attacks against our nation’s critical infrastructures (regular 
workday hours).

Control systems, which consist of computers, process control equipment, and 
process interface systems, monitor and manage our nation’s most critical 
infrastructure processes, such as electricity generation, transmission and 
distribution; natural gas production and distribution; petroleum products 
refining; transportation systems monitoring and control, water supply; 
wastewater treatment; chemical processing; discrete manufacturing; and numerous 
other critical functions. Names often associated with control systems are: 
SCADA – Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition; DCS –Distributed 
Control System; PCS – Process Control System; EMS – Energy Management 
System; SIS –Safety Instrumented System; and MC&S – Manufacturing and 
Control System.

The position will reside in the US-CERT Operations Center and will involve 
facilitating the US-CERT capability to coordinate control systems incident 
management, provide timely situational awareness information for control 
systems, and manage control systems cyber vulnerability and risk reduction 
activities. Specific responsibilities will include:

1. Maintaining a high level of situational awareness of events impacting the 
control systems community through outreach, research, and daily review/analysis 
of numerous information/data feeds available to US-CERT.
2. Liaising between the US-CERT and National Laboratories, Federal agency 
partners, vendors, academia, and control systems owners and operators.
3. Serving as control systems specialist within US-CERT watch and supporting 
all efforts involving control systems cyber security.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Top Secret Clearance (capable of obtaining SCI)
2. Experience working in a Security Operations Center or equivalent.
3. Control systems experience/knowledge – preferred; however, control 
systems training would be provided to candidate with strong computer 
networking/cyber security skills.
4. Incident Analysis experience preferred.
5. Strong Computer Security background.
6. Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
7. Strong Writing and Presentation Skills.
8. Ability to work well in a team setting.
9. Industry Certifications a plus.
10. Degree preferred.
11. Ability to work in an operational environment, establish relationships with 
control system community participants, and ability to communicate with control 
system community contacts on short notice in response to real-world events.
