security team.
Position Description: This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a
growing infrastructure security team within Health Care Services Corp. The
selected individual will play a key role supporting and administering network
security infrastructure devices, being part of new project teams, and providing
2nd level support for network security incident and problem management.
Employing state-of-the-art technology the security team is an integral part of
delivering a comprehensive enterprise security strategy. As a team member
within the Network Delivery Group you will work to enhance the existing
building blocks for a secure and protected network environment in an
organization focused on continuous improvement of its security posture. You
may expect that in this role you current skills will be challenged and new
skills will be acquired as technology and business requirements evolve.
Primary responsibilities of the Security Operations Engineer will be security
solution design and analysis, establishing and maintaining security policy,
project management, and assessing various functional security areas. Some
day-to-day tasks will include 3rd level security incident support, monitoring
and higher level administration of existing security infrastructure solutions
(firewall, FTP, DNS, Big IP load balancers, IDS/IPS, etc.), contributing to
business and security related enhancement projects, and utilizing your
exceptional mentoring, customer service, communication, liaison and
documentation skills.
The selected candidate will also be involved in the identification, evaluation,
and selection of an expanding infrastructure security tool portfolio as
necessary to enhance the availability, integrity and confidentiality of
HCSC’s infrastructure.
Position Basic Functions:
Basic Functions:
This position is responsible for the engineering and 2nd level support of
HCSC Infrastructure Security Networks. This person will be responsible for
the following functions:
Specifications, design and analyses of security infrastructure
architecture.
Lead development and implementation of new security technology and
systems.
Establishing and maintaining security policy, standards and practices.
Perform and lead vulnerability assessments.
Provide 2nd – 3rd level security incident investigation and liaison to
Incident Response Office or customers
Additional responsibilities include managing repair of services,
researching new technology, risk assessment, and vulnerability mitigation.
Other duties include leading operational surveillance and investigation of
the infrastructure for fault recognition and security vulnerabilities,
implementation of technology and systems, and contributing to establishing
and maintaining security standards using best practices. Documentation of
infrastructure security environment and activities. Comply with HIPAA,
Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity and Compliance Program policies.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree with 4 or more years of related information security
work experience including 6 or more equivalent IT/Security experience other
mitigating factors for experience and position maturity level will be considered

Analytical Skills – Expert in 1 or more network security fields
Project Management – Strong PM, Negotiating, and Liaison Skills
Design Skills – Ability to design and recommend solutions or processes
Networking – Advanced to Expert understanding of TCPIP protocol, Ethernet
Topology, Switches and Routers, Services (DNS, FTP, SNMP, etc), Packet Tracing
Operating Systems – Advanced level understanding of 2 or more systems
(Microsoft, Novell, Unix, etc.) - ability to harden & security certify 1
Security DID - Advanced to Design level understanding of 3 or more tools
including advanced working knowledge of 1 – ability to evaluate and
recommend new solutions
Extra consideration provided to candidates displaying 3 or more of the
following specific abilities:
o 2nd Level Security Event Problem Resolution
o Project Technical Leadership & Some Management Skills
o Security Policy Implementation
o Basic Forensic Analysis
o Understanding of Security Hardening techniques for Servers and Desktops
o Knowledge of one or more Network Scanning Tools
o Knowledge of one or more protocol scanners
o VPN (Cisco Concentrators & Access Controls)
o Firewalls (Checkpoint and/or Cisco)
o F5 Load Balancers
o Penetration Testing
o Ethical Hacker Certification
o Wireless Networking Security Experience
o Forensic Analysis Skills
o IDS Monitoring & Event Correlation – experience with Enterasys
Dragon or eSecurity significant plus
