GTA has some challenging and exciting opportunities for Information Security 
Specialists.

We are looking for high-energy contributors who would like to get involved with 
new architecture and technology. 

To be considered, you should be willing to work on a large variety of technical 
challenges while continuing to learn new technology. You must be an 
accomplished individual with outstanding communication skills who can work in a 
diverse environment. 

These positions offer mentoring and growth opportunities across the full 
spectrum of information security domains. You will be helping agencies 
throughout state government improve their security practices and may have the 
opportunity to work with the multi-state Information Sharing and Analysis 
Center (ISAC) as well as the Department of Homeland Security. You may be able 
to telecommute on a regular basis, with no travel required.

These positions will report to the Chief Information Security Officer.


Major responsibilities:

• Learn and apply information technology (IT) security standards, best 
practices, architecture, and systems to ensure the information systems security 
of the operation across the enterprise. 
• Learn and propose improvements to information security policies, 
procedures, standards, and strategies. 
• Review the procedures for analyzing logs and monitoring information 
systems activity for possible intrusions and attacks. 
• Run security analysis reports using commercial tools or custom scripts. 
• Help investigate information security issues. 
• Assist with security administration issues, such as access control and 
password maintenance. 
• Research current trends and developments in information security.

Minimum Qualifications: 

We are looking for two candidates meeting the following minimum qualifications: 

• One year of information security experience relating to the development 
and delivery of security standards, forensics, policy setting, penetration 
testing, compliance verification, risk assessment and mitigation, vulnerability 
scanning, controls, intrusion prevention/detection, and/or anomalous behavior 
systems 
• Two years of experience in an IT environment 
• Two years of experience may be substituted by an associate’s degree 
in computer science, IS, IT, or related field. Three years of experience may be 
substituted by a bachelor’s degree in computer science, IS, IT or a 
related field. 

We are looking for two additional candidates meeting the following minimum 
qualifications:

• Security related certifications including: CISA, CCSE, CCSP, GSE, MCSE: 
Security, Security+, CISSP
