The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a/an Engineer, Intrusion
Prevention for our IT/Info Systems (TSG) Department. Below please find a brief
description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function
successfully in this position.
Essential Job Functions:
Provide technical engineering throughout life cycle of intrusion prevention and
antivirus systems; i.e. install, operate, and maintain. This duty includes the
ability to coordinate small to mid-size projects; Report operational metrics
that quantify the state of readiness on systems under the Intrusion Prevention
team's responsibility; Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute maintenance
activities within established change control guidelines.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
Knowledge of IPS and antivirus technologies; Understanding of network
monitoring techniques; Understanding of IP and associated transport layer
protocols; Strong familiarity with common application layer protocols; Network
security analysis using tools including tcpdump and Ethereal; Basic
understanding of relational databases including MySQL; Comprehension of network
security principles and attack methodologies; Familiarity with types of malware
and modes of distribution; Experience with McAfee e-Policy Orchestrator, and
Intrushield is highly desired.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent
training, education and experience.

Finally, the employee generally works in an indoor office environment; overtime
maybe required.
