Position: Security Consultant
Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Job Title: Senior Security Specialist
Our client is looking for a security specialist who can hit the ground running.
The company is running to tight deadlines and they require to employ the right
professional to start June 1st 2006.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline,
or a demonstrated equivalency based on experience with 10 or more years in IT,
3 to 5 years in data administration and security/infrastructure protection
methods.
You will be working within a team, reporting to one of 'the' security
professionals within the local market, who will be a superb mentor.
Responsible for all aspects of technical design, implementation of customer
security solutions, hands-on configuration of security devices; input into
architectural design and architectural review for security concerns; active and
passive monitoring as directed; contribution to the formulation of policy,
procedures and guidelines; review of security logs and audits; incident
response and forensics; providing input for the security long term strategy,
tactical action plans, training plans and budgetary process; participation in
the high level security processes revolving around threat risk assessments,
security assessments and vulnerability assessments, and the production of
written reports and security materials.
One or more of these industry accreditations would be beneficial: CISA, CISM,
CISSP, SANS-GIAC.
Due to the sensitive nature of this position, a criminal background check will
be required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

An in depth understanding of Windows, Linux and Unix based operating systems
and CISCO switches, routers and firewalls.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline,
or a demonstrated equivalency based on experience with 10 or more years in IT,
3 to 5 years in data administration and security/infrastructure protection
methods.
An in depth understanding of Windows, Linux and Unix based operating systems
and CISCO switches, routers and firewalls.
One or more of these industry accreditations would be beneficial: CISA, CISM,
CISSP, SANS-GIAC.
