Director, Software Development
SUMMARY:
GuardianEdge Technologies is seeking a passionate and proven Director, Software
Development (DSD) to build and lead our San Francisco software development
team. The DSD will bring a proven track record of delivering to
deadline-oriented software product releases. Additionally, the DSD must be
experienced in the full life cycle of product development from concept to
delivery & support. The ideal candidate will possess a solid business-acumen,
engineering management, process, technical, and people management skills.
This position will report to the VP Software Development.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Build, manage, and motivate a team of talented Software Developers dedicated
to producing high quality software.
-Directs software development projects:
oEnsures software projects are completed on time and according to corporate
quality standards.
oFacilitates communication upward and across project team including project
status, justifications for variances and technical information (architecture,
design and implementation objectives).
oServes as focal point for other departments on project status or other project
information.
oOrganizes project through development of a Project Plan.
-Ensures software projects are completed according to product specifications
and are properly documented:
oImplementation of the product satisfies the product specifications.
oPartners with software development management to ensure product architecture
and implementation is maintainable and extendible to accommodate future
development and maintenance (architecture documentation and architecture design
review).
oEnsures that:
a) Documentation gets appropriate level of technical review support
b) QA test plans meet the project requirements
c) Appropriate development and corporate methods and procedures are
followed
JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
-Bachelor's degree in software engineering/computer science or related
technical degree; advanced degree desirable.
-10+ years of experience in software development with 3+ in management.
-A successful track record of leadership experience with defining, managing,
and successfully delivering software solutions and products and meeting
aggressive deadlines is essential.
-A comprehensive understanding and experience in all aspects of the software
development life cycle (SDLC) including analysis, design, implementation,
testing and delivery.
-Excellent time management, communications, decision making, presentation,
interpersonal and organization skills.
-Able to resolve problems in a timely manner.
-A background in security/encryption software is ideal.
