Position: Sr. Security Analyst
Location: Schaumburg, Illinois, United States
Type: Permanent F/T

Department Description: The Security Operations Center (SOC) is responsible for
all information security aspects of customer networks. Team members of the SOC
are responsible for monitoring key security elements within each environment;
performing analysis and initiating response activities.
Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations: We are currently seeking individuals
with strong security background to join a team of professionals delivering
quality IT security services to a variety of top-tier international clients. We
are a Fortune 100 company with sales over US$36 billion in 2005, a global
leader in communications technologies across many business lines. Our Security
Operations Center (SOC) provides 24x7x365 security support for our customers
Members of the SOC Monitoring and Analysis team are responsible for monitoring
key security elements within each customer environment, performing analysis,
and initiating response activities. The analyst will identify a threat and then
determine the severity and probable impact of the threat, and then propose a
recommended response to the threat.
An ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Monitor each customer’s Intrusion Detection Systems, firewalls,
anti-virus systems, and other managed security components.
- Respond to incidents and customer requests
- Able to prepare clear and concise event reports
- Able to provide a risk assessment of a given threat in non-technical terms
- Act as a primary interface to our customers if they call into the SOC for
security-related issues.
- Analyze all practices/procedures currently in place, and suggest improvements
to both technologies and practices used in the SOC.
- Assist with post-mortem analysis when security breaches occur.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Specific Knowledge/Skills:
- 3-5 years experience with security (security monitoring preferred)
- Solid understanding of information security concepts
- Experience with intrusion detection systems
- Excellent analytical skills
- Bachelors Degree, preferably in an IT or engineering related field
SANS Security certifications are desirable.
