--------------------------------------------------- SECURITYFOCUS JOBS - NEW OPPORTUNITY --------------------------------------------------- JOB DESCRIPTION --------------------------------------------------- Position: Security Product Marketing Manager Location: Austin, Texas, United States Type: Permanent F/T Closing Date: 2006-05-22 • Develop tactical marketing programs designed to maximize sales and revenue. • Develop and execute operational marketing, communications and product launch plans. • Support a promotional strategy to establish company as a thought leader in the area of business information assurance. • Support key messaging for Company security and storage products, including customer value, feature/function/benefit, ROI and competitive positioning. • Produce all product marketing and sales collateral, including data sheets, brochures, sales presentations, demos and whitepapers. Take a leadership role in defining companys’ look-and-feel. • Work with Crossroads’ PR firm to properly position products with press and analysts. • Provide the sales team and channel with the information and tools they need to close new business. • Support companys participation in sales and marketing events. • Leverage relationships with Companys partners in pursuit of co-marketing opportunities. • Support the product management team in setting new product specifications, packaging and pricing. • Champion programs with internal stakeholders and external partners. JOB REQUIREMENTS --------------------------------------------------- • BA/BS in marketing or equivalent experience; an advanced degree or MBA preferred. • Five years of technology marketing experience, with a history of successful products delivered via an indirect distribution model. Familiarity with corporate, field and events marketing. Some sales experience preferred. • Domain expertise in security. • Technology background and aptitude, with an understanding of technical issues and ability to work closely with development teams, product management, analysts, press, partners and customers. • Ability to identify, articulate and drive customer requirements and market needs into product, marketing and channel programs. • Relationship and team building skills. Personal credibility in one-on-one, team and public forums. Sound diplomatic and negotiating skills. • Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills. • Familiarity with financial, government and healthcare markets.
