The Role
As the Corporation's independent control assessment function, the General Audit 
Department is accountable for providing the Audit and Examining Committees of 
the Board of Directors, the Office of the Chairman, senior management and the 
regulators with reasonable assurance that the system of internal controls, as 
designed, achieves its objectives.
 
The Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI) Audit Team is responsible for 
assessing the adequacy of the control environment across the Firms 
Infrastructure.  This is achieved through a program of audit coverage, which is 
performed and managed by a global team of integrated technology, financial and 
business specialists.  This role is for an experienced IT professional to join 
the EMEA GTI Technology Audit Team
Key Responsibilities
As a senior member of the Technology Audit function, you will be expected to 
contribute to the development of the strategy and shape the future GTI audit 
coverage across the region.  All members of the Audit team are expected to:
•  Provide advice and expertise on the IT control environment of the firm 
by delivering timely and independent feedback to senior management.  This may 
be delivered through specific audit reviews or through on going involvement in 
major activities or projects;
•  Evaluate and determine the adequacy of internal controls and track any 
remediation of issues identified;
•  Perform monitoring of periodic technology related data to recognise 
patterns, relationships and trends with risk and control implications;
•  Develop theory and scope of audits and ensure audits are performed per 
professional standards and department procedures;
•  Interface with audit managers and directors on departmental activities, 
status, schedules, guidance and other activities; and
•  Be prepared to travel, domestically and internationally.
Essential functions of this role:

Plan
Participate on the development of the annual plan in partnership with business 
audit peers.  The plan must be:
Fully integrated addressing business, IT and infrastructure requirements; and
Prioritized to take account of the risks presented by the technology and 
operations in support of the business.
Partnership
A fundamental requirement within the Audit Department is the ability to operate 
as a team, as partners.
The incumbent must be able to partner across the technology and business audit 
teams to maximize the quality, integration and effectiveness of the audit work. 
 This requires a very proactive, open and communicative approach through all 
aspects of planning, execution, reporting and staff matters.
Such partnership is also expected in dealing with clients.  There is a need to 
be proactive and open in communication with clients.
Communication
The individual is expected to be able to communicate effectively with clients 
and senior management both verbally and written in a variety of situations, 
including one to one, committee meetings and formal presentations.
Key facets of the communication skills required in all these situations are the 
ability to be both an effective listener, and influencer
Qualifications & Specific Experience/Skills Required:
•  Experienced IT professional with a proven Financial Services 
(preferred) track record of more than five years in application development, 
technology operations, major project deployment or technology audit
•  Strong practical knowledge of the development lifecycle and project 
and/or programme management concepts and controls
•  Varied experience of other platforms e.g. mid-range, distributed, 
desktop etc and their associated operating systems e.g. OS/400, Unix, Novell etc
•  Solid understanding of internal control concepts and strong analytical 
skills
•  Enthusiastic, self-motivator, effective communications, thrives under 
pressure and willing to take personal responsibility and accountability
