Sourcefire, Inc. is looking for several QA Engineers to join our highly 
talented and rapidly expanding team in our Headquarters in Columbia, Maryland. 
The primary responsibilities of the QA Engineer include:

        * Writing and executing detailed manual and automated test plans for 
Sourcefire's network security solutions.
        * Interacting with Sourcefire Development and Operations staff.
        * Interacting with vendors and partners on test-related issues.
        * Tracking defects from discovery through resolution.



JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
In Order to be considered for this position, the ideal candidate will have:

        * Excellent analytical, technical, and troubleshooting skills.
        * Knowledgeable in TCP/IP and related networking protocols and concepts.
        * Configuration and usage of two or more of the following: Apache HTTP 
Server, Cisco IOS devices, Cisco PIX firewalls, Nortel SDM, Crossbeam XOS 
and/or COS security switches, Check Point FW-1, Juniper Netscreen, Sourcefire 
3D.
        * Configuration and usage of two or more of the following: Snort, 
Tomahawk, Nessus, Nmap, Ethereal, fragroute, tcpdump, tcpreplay.
        * Comfortable working primarily in Linux, but able to easily switch to 
Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X for testing purposes.
        * Familiar with Perl, C, and shell scripting.
        * Experience defining test requirements and test methodologies.
        * Comfortable working with hardware (cabling, installing hard drives, 
memory, or network cards).
        * Strong technical skills with solid GUI Testing experience (Quick Test 
Professional, Silk, or similar test tools preferred).
        * Previous/current experience testing applications in Linux, Solaris, 
and other UNIX environments.
        * Basic Linux, Solaris or other UNIX environment system administration 
experience.
        * Basic Windows system administration knowledge.
        * Must work well in a team environment, be highly motivated, and able 
to learn and apply new skills quickly. Experience in a fast-paced startup 
environment is highly desired.

Skills which are not required, but are preferred include:

        * Strong background in network management solution testing with an 
automation background.
        * Experience stress testing network equipment.
        * Database testing experience, including but not limited to: MySQL, 
Oracle, and PostGreSQL.
        * Strong shell and/or Perl scripting.
        * Familiar with Expect/Tcl scripting.
        * Experience creating automated tests using Mercury Quick Test 
Professional.
        * TCP/IP protocol analysis experience a plus.
