We are currently seeking an experienced Sr. Security Engineer to join our
Information Services team at our Roseland, New Jersey Headquarters.
This position will provide security technical engineering for Organon USA,
consisting of the local and wide area network infrastructure, and the
associated hardware and software components that comprise the security
infrastructure as a whole. The incumbent will also provide network engineering
functions on an as needed basis as well.
Position will also assist in maintaining a reliable, efficient, and
appropriately sized security infrastructure to support the security needs of
Organon USA and must be able to manage high profile global security related
projects and assist network engineers with network projects. Position will be
responsible for many global projects, including Intrusion Detection/Prevention,
firewall administration and implementation, and securing host systems against
external and internal exploits. Position will also take a leadership role in
providing technical assistance and troubleshooting support for the Organon
security infrastructure. Position will be responsible for remaining up-to-date
on all current infrastructure threats to an enterprise, including viruses,
Denial of Service attacks, information theft, and any new compromises to the
global internal security architecture.
Duties will also include:
Provide a leadership role for technical support in maintaining, tuning, and
extending the Organon security infrastructure as required by the needs of the
business.
Perform detailed security audits and make recommendations to management to
improve internal and external security.
Identify and evaluate potential security related software packages and hardware
which can be used in monitoring and troubleshooting the security infrastructure.
Regularly evaluate security matrices and our security preparedness against the
latest global threats to ensure Organon, Inc. is not compromised or breached in
any way.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
experience with eight to nine (8-9) years relevant experience as a computer
professional, five to seven (5-7) of which must include direct relevant
experience in building and maintaining a corporate security infrastructure.
Certification in security and/or networking technology preferred.
Experience with Checkpoint firewalls in high availability configuration
Extensive knowledge of Intrusion Detection Systems.
Extensive knowledge of Firewall Management.
Strong knowledge of Virtual Private Network (VPN) and encryption technologies.
In-depth knowledge of network engineering and networking technologies.
Working knowledge of Remote Security Administration (RSA) software,
fault-tolerant engineering using networking and systems technologies, Wide Area
Network (WAN )bandwidth management, and Windows 2000 Active Directory
environments.
Excellent problem solving skills.
