It combines Business Continuity and Information Risk Management functions and supports the Investment Bank to achieve its Control objectives. The IB Technology Controls Office comprises: Business Control Offices, Governance functions and Business Continuity Management Practices. Business Control Offices: These Business-aligned teams work closely with IB Technology groups and Business Management to identify, assess severity and manage resolution of key risks across control disciplines, business as usual activities and development projects. Core Practices & Governance Functions. These central teams are responsible for defining and driving risk and control strategies in partnership with their respective corporate functions. They lead cross- business programs and provide overall governance and reporting to IB Technology and Operations management teams, the Business Control Committee, Regional Operating Risk Committees and Executive Management. IB TCO provides expertise to Investment Bank groups via advisory roles, process improvement and management of business & technology projects. IB TCO is responsible for the following programs to ensure the Investment Bank has appropriate readiness and controls in place: Business Continuity Risk Programs Information Security Crisis Management Work to identify opportunities to improve and refine services to meet business needs and act as expert advisers to businesses on business continuity and controls. Key Responsibilities: - Educate EMEA Credit Technology delivery teams on (i) business context of why our control strategy is necessary, (ii) criteria used to assess the control adequacy of the technology environment (iii) how to implement controls in the firm's chosen toolsets - Partner with CBTs to ensure EMEA Credit businesses are aware of their Business Continuity, Information Security, Technology Capacity and Resiliency Status - Ensure EMEA Credit Technology have a well controlled environment, with any gaps being well understood and realistic action plans in place - Lead the bi-annual CSA process, ensuring CBTs/EMEA Credit Technology delivery teams accurately complete CSAs, identify significant control weaknesses and enter action plans into the appropriate tools . - Lead the quarterly SOX testing program, validating that critical controls continue to operate consistently. - Develop a forward-looking formal approach (technology risk management) that includes transparent communication of risks across EMEA Credit Technology, including capacity, resiliency, continuity and security. - Provides expert knowledge of Information Risk, Security and Controls and consults to Business, Operations and Technology - Work on small and large projects providing detailed specialized knowledge of tools, processes and procedures relating to Information Risk. Key Skills: A strong 'hands-on' individual to manage the day to day Technology Controls agenda for the EMEA Credit Business within Investment Bank. The person will need to have a knowledge of IB products and strong project management skills. They must be able to build a strong working partnership with key managers in front office, operations and technology, and leverage this relationship to ensure that Control requirements are met, or gaps are identified and action plans put in place. The candidate needs to be effective as both an advisor and as a reviewer, looking for compliance to firm-wide policies and standards. He/she also needs to have an understanding of technology and be at ease in discussing requirements with businesses and technology groups. The position requires an individual who is comfortable working with both senior business/technology managers and business/technology experts. Playing a major role in driving forward the Technology Controls agenda will be a key success factor.
