Position: Technical Writer
Location: Superior, Colorado, United States
Type: Contract
Closing Date: 2006-05-12
This technical writing position is a part-time on-call remote position where
existing FrameMaker documents are re-branded with OEM styles. This conversion
process is currently used for one of three products and occurs at each
release--currently about three times per year. The estimated conversion time is
40-80 hours per release per OEM client. There is currently one OEM client using
this process. Both the number of OEM clients and number of products involved in
this process is expected to increase over the next year.
Responsibilities
- Using existing FrameMaker documents, apply existing OEM template.
- Perform search-and-replace activities
- Capture screenshots from software
- Create PDF files
- Using Quadralay WebWorks and existing templates, convert OEM documents to
HTML documents
- Possibly create new templates based on new OEM requirements

Requirements
- Experience with the following software: FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat, Visio,
screen capture software
- Experience with Quadralay WebWorks is desired, but not required
- Degree in technical writing, journalism, English, or related field
- 1 – 3 years professional experience in writing/editing/document
production position
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
