Responsibilities
Cyber Security Researcher National/International Authority on Threat
Possess a demonstrated mastery of topics centric to the assessment of Threat to
national critical infrastructure assets from cyber attack. Areas of expertise
to include a broad understanding of Nation State involvement on a global scale,
interactions between organized crime, terrorist organizations, recreational
researchers and professional hackers.
Organizes and chairs sessions at national and international workshops focused
upon the generation of new analysis models capable of accurately portraying the
state of cyber threat to US National Security concerns.
Presents cyber security concepts to CEO level industry groups, gives
congressional testimony and provides consulting services on cyber security
problems at a national/intenational level. Represents the INL at external
events via participation in working groups, speaking engagements and scientific
presentation in large public forums.
Displays a significant record of peer-reviewed publications, reports,
presentations, intellectual property, and/or technical products involving cyber
based threats to national assets.
Attracts large-scale projects that may cross lab wide organizational
boundaries. Defines and leads efforts that have a direct impact on long term
organizational strategic goals. Works to build core cyber analysis capabilities
within the National and Homeland Security organization.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with 15 years relevant experience or advanced degree with 13
years experience, PhD with 11 years experience. Preferred disciplines
are:Computer Science/Engineering, Math, EE.
Special Requirements/Training:
Capable of obtaining a "Q" clearance with appropriate sigmas and SCI clearance.
Capable of working in secured area, handling and storing and processing
classified information, using combination locks and extensive range of
passwords and combinations. Skill in advanced cyber security capabilities.
Knowledgable in operating system and network security (Linux, Solaris, and
Windows). Published works on Terrorist target assessment practices,
philosophies, etc. Understanding of informal Black Hat Commmunity
communications and structure. Understanding of Cyber based attack mechanisms,
deployment methodologies and impact. Superior leadership abilities centric to
the development and effective utilization of highly technical teams of
personnel. Ability to juggle participation in multiple highly visible
projects/programs at the same time. Skill in oral and written communication.
Skill in establishing and developing customer rapport.
