Technical Security Consultant/Technical Security Engineer
To support the provision of the Information Security Service Line - Technical
Security Capability within the Information Security Service Line
My client is an independent Programme and System Assurance Company. With over
25 years' experience of delivering consulting and technology services into
Space, Defence and Government sectors, they are trusted by their clients to
provide independent advice and reliable solutions, wherever the integrity of
their programmes and systems is essential.
Their headquarters are in the U.K. with other offices in Germany and France and
employing in excess of 600 staff which are based in various client locations
within Europe.
Implementation of security requirements:
Review of all security related documentation to assure all security
issues/risks are flagged, costed, so that the client has a full view of all
impacts in the ongoing contract negotiations.
General: Development of a mid-/long-term security concept for the client for
current and future missions (i.e. including the above). Definition of roles &
responsibilities & interfaces for the security manager.
Technical Engineer involved in scoping, assessing and reporting on the security
of web-based applications, internal IT infrastructures and databases...
Testing comprises of running a variety of appropriate manual and automated
tests, along with bespoke tools and exploit scripts within the agreed scope.
These tests are performed over the Internet or from internal LANs.
Providing consistent and measured analysis of test results and appropriate
assessment of level of threats and risks to systems and applications. Reporting
on the same in a structured, professional manner.
Qualifications/Experience: Tester/Engineer – 2 years + with Degree in IT
or IS related field.
Understanding and experience of wider security skills, such as policies and
procedures.
Experience in one or more of the following standards are desirable: ISO 15408,
ISO 17799, ISO 13335 or BS 7799. CISSP Certification would be beneficial.
Essential Skills: Fluent German and good English.
Customer facing skills. Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Excellent report writing skills. Currency in multi vendor software operating
systems for office automation /IT systems, both at OS and at Application
levels, including but not limited to databases, schedulers, messaging systems
web browsing schemas applicable architectures (and security barriers) and
network operating systems. Capability to be cleared to a minimum of SC or
equivalent.
Desirable Skills: Secure Software Design, software validation / testing,
security product evaluation. Experience of public domain testing methodologies
and approaches. Experience of real time systems. Experience of cryptographic
implementations.

of the recruitment process. Furthermore, in view of the nature of the work our
