Position: Manager, Information Security
Location: Newport, , United Kingdom
Type: Permanent F/T

Working for this worldwide organisation as part of their European operation,
the Security Manager will ensure that there are auditable security policies and
standards, appropriate to the core business, so that IT-systems, data and
equipment are adequately protected against viruses, corruption and unauthorised
access.
Inline with ISO17799 you will formulate and maintain an IT-security policy and
standards: classification of data, access controls, viruses, recovery, BCP,
risk assessment procedures and system development standards for security and
testing.
You will ensure that working procedures are implemented in compliance with the
IT Security Policy and standards, provide advice and recommendations, during
all phases of projects, for implementing security components as an integral
part of all IT applications.
You will maintain external contacts with supplier etc and have an up to date
knowledge of security techniques.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

With at least 4years industry experience in a significant role, you will have
multi platform experience (complex multi platform Windows 2000, 2003, XP,
UNIX, AIX, LINUX and z/OS) - internet and business applications. Good
technical documentation skills, you will be a proactive problem solver, able to
work independently and on own initiative you will have the gravitas to
communicate at all level of the (international) business. Strong knowledge of
ISO 17799 and COBIT are essential.
