This is a newly created position within a leader in the information security
software industry. Our client has received numerous awards for their innovation
in the information security software space. In business since the 2000
timeframe but still privately held, you would receive stock options. This role
exists to provide a bridge between the Product Management group and the
Software Engineering group. In this role, you will add value in the following
ways: Work with software architects and developers in developing this
company’s next generation of security management software products;
Translate best practices in enterprise security management into product
requirements; Draw upon your deep experience working with Network Security
Operations issues within large enterprise-wide client environments. Actively
participate in the development of product requirements, system architecture and
software design; Develop effective methods of processing and transforming
security dat
a from various sources into actionable security information; Develop effective
techniques for security incident identification, root cause analysis,
containment and eradication. Since this is a newly created role, the
possibilities for growth are endless and depend largely upon the
individual’s skills, the company’s success and market demands. There
could be need for occasional travel to accompany the product development team
to client sites but it should not exceed 25%.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

A BA/BS in Computer Science or an equivalent degree is required. Advanced
education at the Masters level is preferred. Certifications desired include the
CISSP, GIAC, GCIA or equivalent. Must demonstrate a solid understand of all
facets of information security – issues, challenges, technological
solutions and best practices. Must be able to map security requirements down to
technological security solutions. Must have a thorough knowledge of networking
protocols. Must have expert level knowledge of network security and operating
system security. Must demonstrate 10+ years of hands-on experience in managing
security infrastructure (Firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), IPS,
etc) for a large enterprise or a service provider. Must demonstrate a working
knowledge of incident response management. Must demonstrate an ability and
desire to learn new technologies quickly. It is imperative that you demonstrate
outstanding verbal and written communication skills as you will
be working as a bridge between Product Development and Software
Architects/Engineers. Must be able to direct the activities of a development
group based on security best practices. Must be highly detail oriented.
