Avaya is a leading global provider of enterprise VoIP. Our Security
Technologies & Development team delivers security technologies across the
entire portfolio. Focus areas include Confidentiality, Identity,
Authentication, Authorization, Mitigation, and Detection. We currently have
opportunities in development, test, and project management.
Responsible for design, implementation, integration, installation and
maintenance of security architecture of Avaya voice solution suites including
but not limited to:
Architecture, integration, maintenance of VOIP and IP security systems with an
emphasis on IDS/IPS
Evaluate Avaya security systems requirements and make recommendations for
changes and improvements continually
Work with various remote developers, partners and global systems integrators to
coordinate new installations, problem resolution and maintenance
Maintain regular communication with other security experts and developers in
house to ensure a coordinated approach to systems management
Acts as a key technical contributor to the voice solutions security efforts.
Has depth of expertise in TCP/IP family of protocols, VOIP, IDS/IPS, Security
Event Correlation, Threat assessment, VPN, Firewall, VOIP/SIP vulnerabilities,
H.323 security etc.
Work is performed with minimal direction and reviewed by senior management.
Provides solutions to a diverse range of complex problems.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

BS in Computer Science, Information Security or equivalent work experience
8+ years of experience with software development with at least 4+ years with
C/C++ and Java
At least 4 years of hands-on experience designing and implementing technical
security solutions such as IDS/IPS solutions, Firewalls, VPNs
In-depth understanding in one or more areas: Unix security, Cryptography,
Firewall, PKI, IDS/IPS, SIP, SRTP, Event correlation, Honeypots, Threat
assessment, VOIP/SIP vulnerabilities, H.323 security etc.
Experience in Java application servers and Java enterprise APIs, Enterprise
class server applications in Java, understanding of extreme multi-threading,
run time performance, Java Security APIs etc preferred
Knowledge of/experience with Nmap, Nessus, Snort, Ethereal, Tripwire and
vulnerability scanners a plus
Understanding of Microsoft systems in enterprise deployments (Windows NT
server, 2000 server, AD) and Mutliple types of Unix systems desirable
CISSP certification desirable
Ability to make independent decisions within the bounds of management guidance
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to understand and grasp new concepts and technologies quickly
Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks independently
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
Excellent oral and written communication skills and pleasant customer
relationship skills
