Position: Security Researcher
Location: Redwood City\Santa Monica, California, United States

Senior Security Research Analyst
is responsible for research into existing and emerging Internet threats. The
analyst will play a key role in the analysis of new emerging technologies and
the identification of new threats that target those technologies. The resulting
research will play a pivotal role in the development of new security solutions,
and the setting of product direction. The analyst will serve as an evangelist,
providing technical direction and advice to management in the long-range
planning of new software solutions.
As a technical visionary, this position may also entail creating and
implementing state of the art ideas; mentoring and helping to upgrade technical
proficiency of the team; consistently delivering creative designs; responsible
for system-level design specifications and technology plans.
This role will entail researching specific technologies in order to identify
new and novel attack vectors. It will also entail the analysis of existing
threats, and their applicability to these new technologies.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

An advanced degree in Computer Science and a minimum of 10 years of software
development experience. The candidate will possess in-depth experience with
Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Windows kernel and internal structures. The
candidate will also have worked with advanced Win32 APIs and have a good
understanding of Windows platform architecture and multithreaded programming.
Proven track record in security related research with history of publications
to conferences, working groups, and forums preferred (academic or security
industry).
10 years of networking experience including TCP/IP and related protocols, as
well as Windows application level protocols (MSRPC, CIFS).
OR
10 years of security experience, with focus on malicious code including
viruses, worms, rootkits, and bot networks.
The candidate is also expected to have experience with advanced debugging tools
like WinDbg, SoftIce and IDA. Prior experience developing security/consumer
products is a plus.
The right candidate will have excellent communication and presentation skills
with the ability to present research to an executive audience.
