Position: Quality Assurance
Location: Bangalore, Karnataka, India

The candidate hired for this position shall be based out of our Bangalore,
Karnataka office and would work on a long term project outsourced to us by one
of our client which is an Ottawa based, venture-capital funded start-up
providing Deep Host Intrusion Prevention (HIP) solutions to high-profiled
clients across the globe. Their Deep HIP approach, recognized by industry
analysts as the approach required by a leading intrusion prevention system,
provides host-based protection from the broadest range of attacks. This
patent-pending technology is able to neutralize attackers and normalize
infected data, providing unparalleled protection to most sensitive information
and also ensures regulatory compliance. These world-class solutions are

The Quality Assurance (QA) professional that we wish to hire should have an eye
for details and can assist the development team in making a robust and
bulletproof product. Credible experience in information security, product
testing and batch automation is desirable.
Responsibilities of this individual include:
 Writing test scripts to test product at network, application
and system level.
 Test products against current industry benchmarks and known
vulnerabilities.
 Identify, document, and track software defects found during
testing.
 Collect and process samples of network traffic for inclusion in
scripts.
 Writing test plans and test cases and executing test cases in a
thorough and timely manner.
 Working with the development team, documentation specialists
and customer support groups to ensure overall product success.
 Influence product by suggesting new functionality, which will
make our customers more successful with our products.
 Perform elaborate regression and load testing on the product.
 Write protocol fuzzers and packet generation tools.
 Assist the development team in patching latest vulnerabilities
by testing the reproductions of the exploits.
 Perform various exploit evasion techniques to find any
shortcoming in the vulnerability signatures.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications include:
 At least 3 years experience in a QA role in a security or
networking company.
 Deep experience with firewalls, IDS/ IPS and networking
protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, SMTP, SNMP, RPC, SMB etc.)
 Good knowledge at Windows and Linux platforms; hands-on
experience setting up services such as FTP, HTTP, Mail, Samba, NFS, DNS, etc.
 Demonstrated ability to logically and analytically troubleshoot
software.
 Demonstrated ability to write clear and reproducible problem
reports, and test results.
 Knowledge of general QA procedures and methodologies, and
software development fundamentals.
 Experience configuring, installing, and troubleshooting
PC/server software and hardware in a Windows or Unix environment.
 Ability to work in a collaborative environment and communicate
well with other departments.
 Ability to work on assigned tasks under time constraints.
 Knowledge of scripting languages such as shell, PERL, Ruby etc.
 Knowledge on the usage of various security tools like
Metasploit Framework, Nessus and nmap etc.
 General acquaintance and awareness on information security,
vulnerability scanning and hacker techniques.
 Knowledge of IPS, IDS, or NIDS an asset.
 Knowledge across all network layers and functions, including
transport, network management, security and operations
 Detailed knowledge of methods used by intruders to attack
systems and networks.
 University or college study of computer science or computer
engineering.
