Position: Sr. Security Engineer
Location: Seattle, Washington, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2006-04-07
This position is part of a core team responsible for maintaining the security
and integrity of the web presense of one of the most recognized brands in the
entertainment industry. The team is in a growth stage with many interesting
security related projects on the immediate horizon. The Senior Security
Engineer will play an instrumental role in the implementation and management of
these projects. This is a high availability, large scale environment.
The Senior Security Engineer is responsible for implementation, maintenance,
and operation of information security controls, including VPN access,
production accounts, and third-party access. This position will be responsible
for implemenation and integration of security controls such as NIDS/HIDS, IPS,
and logging and monitoring solutions. This position will also be responsible
for identifying and reviewing firewall change requests to ensure
appropriateness. Finally, this position will review system, firewall and IDS
logs, as well as announcements of new security vulnerabilities, in order to
identify actionable information.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering,
or related major is required. Graduate coursework is desired.
Requires 5-10 years of experience in information security, network
administration, or systems administration.
Requires 3-5 years of significant hands-on work experience with TCP/IP.
3-5 years of experience with firewall administration or auditing is required.
Experience with Unix/Linux is desired.
Experience working in a high-bandwidth Internet environment is desired.
SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED
Must be able to independently evaluate change requests to production firewalls,
and provide an approval recommendation based on information security best
practices.
Familiarity with security tools such as nmap, CIS Scoring tools, Nessus,
Retina, etc. is desired.
Must be familiar with PGP. Experience deploying a PGP keyserver is desired.
CISSP certification is a plus, but one or more GIAC certifications (GSEC, GCWN,
GCFW, GCIH, etc.) is even more desirable for this position.
The candidate must be able to successfully complete a criminal background
investigation and a credit history check.
