Job Description:
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for managing the VitalStream
production network. This individual will be involved in the design,
implementation and testing of upgrades and new technologies in our network
architecture. The network environment consists of multiple national and
international PoPs. In addition, this individual is also responsible for the
hands-on management of our bandwidth utilization, including and not limited to,
bandwidth utilization analysis, routing analysis (BGP), peering relationship
and management, network strategy and various modeling initiative to help define
our network strategy. This individual will be part of a team, wholly
responsible for 100% availability of our network.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
• 4-7 years of relevant network engineering including
routers/switches/firewall including and not limited to: Catalyst 65XX,
Sup32/10G, CSM, LMS, ACS, 29XX, PIX, Extreme Summit 400s, Alteon, Radware,
RouteScience and rules-based hardware routing decision engines
• Must be fluent in BGP, IGRP, RIP and configuring routes, SLB, FW,
switches, VLANs, NAT, and load-balancing clusters
• 2-3 years of CDN or ISP experience
• 2 years of data center management
• 3 years of Linux/Unix and Windows experience
• Experience in relationship building with vendors and peering partners
