Hardcore QA Tester
We're looking for someone to work closely with a "Hardcore Developer" to build
an elite development/test team. It would be helpful if you can show the
"Hardcore Developer" a thing or two, just to keep the ego in check. You'll need
a similar set of skills (excellent problem-solver, very fast learning,
go-getter, people skills, ego in check), but be a master of QA process, and be
obsessed with finding bugs in your counterpart's code.
Some reasons NOT TO SUBMIT YOUR RESUME AND WASTE BOTH OUR TIME:
• Professional Windows-only programmer
• Never done QA in your life, but think you’d find it interesting.
• Know that your former managers would have plenty of negative things to
say about you
• Don't get along with people or are always the friction point in the team
• Prefer contract work and have a work history that shows it
• The faster you work, the lower quality work you produce
Think: "Why not? I'll lob my resume in and see what happens even though
I’ve only written code and never done QA."
Again, our expectation is that no one will match this exact skill set, but this
position is about rising to a challenge, and if you're brave enough, we want to
talk to you. If you're that good, you'll fit right in with the rest of our
team. We guarantee they'll challenge you both technically and personally.
Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
This is a full-time position.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Here are some of the technologies with which you’ll need familiarity:
• C++
• Java, JSP, JMS, JSF, Hibernate, AJAX
• Linux, Linux kernel
• IP-based networking
• RPM package manager
• Python
• JDBC/ODBC, MySQL, PostgreSQL
• Firefox, Internet Explorer, Jakarta Tomcat, Jetty, DHTML
You should be conversant in most of the above. If not, you should have a
genuine desire to get up to speed on all of the above as quickly as possible.
And you should be able to do it “faster than all of your friends.”
Nice-to-have exposure or experience:
• Nessus
• Snort
• Network security
The position involves testing custom/common product features, automating test
cases, and providing level 3 technical support on all three of StillSecure's
award-winning security products. Additionally, you will perform acceptance
testing on externally developed software.
