Position: Chief Scientist
Location: Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, United States
Type: Contract

NACON Consulting seeks a Chief Scientist to oversee a network of intrusion
detection systems; manage an IDS correlation tool; and lead solution fielding,
installation, and operations.
The Chief Scientist will oversee the maintenance of the IDS's to ensure that
the appropriate version of the software is running and that patches are
installed and are operating correctly. He or she will provide technical support
to the network of sites using the IDS with respect upgrades and patches. He or
she will document the installed configurations in a database.
The Chief Scientist will help support the development, documentation,
maintenance, and management of the ArcSight platform on a global scale.
The Chief Scientist will manage a sensor grid enhancement effort. He or she
will develop detailed test plans and procedures to support integration,
configuration, testing, and the evaluation of new hardware and software which
is under consideration for use on the sensor grid.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

The applicant must possess the following qualifications:
• MS degree in a technical field
• 12+ years of experience
• Minimum DOD Secret Clearance
• U.S. Citizen
Skills required:
• UNIX/Solaris, including some Sys Admin
• DBA background in Oracle and MySQL
• SNORT/ACID/Barnyard
• tcpdump use and implementation
• Some Shell and Perl programming
Additional desired skills:
• Arcsight
• Securify
• Sourcefire
