Position: Sales Engineer
Location: Herndon, Virginia, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2006-02-25
The Senior System Engineer performs the following function: technical pre-sales
support for family of software products.
The Senior System Engineer will work with the sales team in a pre-sales role to
develop and position solutions involving products. Presentations and conference
call discussions are a critical part of this position. During the qualifying
process,
confirm that products meet the prospect's requirements and assist sales in
technical
qualification. Throughout the proposal process, articulate and demonstrate
solutions, influence customer's technical requirements, and position products
relative to competition.
Additional requirements and responsibilities include:
·Be responsible for all of the technical aspects of proposals
·A working knowledge of the security industry
·A working knowledge of competitive products for each of products,
·Obtain an Industry or Technical Certification (i.e. SANS, CISSP, CNE,
MCSE, SUN
Professional) or equivalent approved by manager
Other duties will be assigned as necessary.
Technical Requirements
The Senior System Engineer must have an in-depth knowledge of two of the
following Operating Systems: UNIX, NT, Netware or Windows 2000. The engineer
must work towards attaining knowledge of the other Operating Systems.
The Senior System Engineer must obtain a working knowledge of all products. Must
be able to install and demonstrate all products with a particular focus on the
product set defined by their manager. The Senior System Engineer must obtain
more than one product expertise (expertise categories as defined by product
marketing) as assigned by the manager. Working closely with assigned sales
personnel, the Senior SE is Responsible for the technical aspects of the sales
cycle
and is often involved with the client post purchase.
THIS POSITION REQUIRES AN ACTIVE TOP SECRET CLEARANCE, PREFERABLY TS-SCI
OR ABOVE, AS WELL AS DIRECT EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH INTELLIGENCE
COMMUNITY (CIA, NSA), DOD, LAW ENFORCEMENT (FBI, DOJ), AND CIVILIAN
FEDERAL AGENCIES.
